DAVID WILSON HOMES LEAFLET - PRESS RELEASE
We are aware that, in recent days, most residents have received a leaflet on behalf of David Wilson Homes. Firstly, we would like to say that this leaflet has NOT been endorsed by either the Parish Council or the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group, indeed a commitment to print had already been made before we were given an opportunity to comment.
We are unhappy that we have been quoted in this leaflet, making reference to one of the sites being promoted by another developer. For the record, the comment which has been quoted was made some 18 months ago (in April 2017) in response to Cheshire East Council's "Call for Sites" and related to a much more substantial development than the one now being proposed.
Adrian Fisher, Head of the Local Plan team at Cheshire East Council, also advised David Wilson Homes to correct a number of further inaccuracies in their leaflet; however, from the publication that we have all received, it is clear that these inaccuracies have not been addressed. We would like to remind everyone that they can comment on the draft SADPD by sending an email to:

PARK FLOWERBED READY TO BLOOM
Earlier today, assisted by a number of local volunteers and officers from ANSA Parks Maintenance, I helped take delivery and plant 500 new perennials in the park. The Parish Council agreed that the flowerbed by the bandstand should be a centrepiece attraction in the park and approved the spend of £477 at its September meeting.
I would like to thank everyone involved in helping with the planting scheme and I'm sure that once the plants have had chance to bed-in, we will have a lovely new attraction to the park from next Spring onwards, through the summer. The plants are: Crocosmia, Salvia & Rudbeckia.

COMMUNITY SPEEDWATCH - 4TH OCTOBER
On Thursday 4th October, I joined local residents and volunteers from the Community Speedwatch team to carry out a session on Ryleys Lane. Between 2-3pm, we recorded 40 vehicles in total with the full results as follows:
- 31 vehicles above the speed threshold but below 40 mph
- 9 vehicles travelling at 40 mph or above
- highest recorded speed 45 mph
- average speed of all recorded vehicles 38 mph
As always, we continue to rely on the support of local volunteers to run these sessions, so if you are able to spare an hour a month to help out, please drop me an email or leave your details in the comments box below. Thank you.

PETITION TO CHANGE CHESHIRE EAST COUNCIL
I am supporting the campaign to #ChangeCheshireEast from the existing Cabinet System, to a new Committee System of governance. The campaign, which is non-political, aims simply to ensure that whichever political group is in control of the Council has to make decisions in a way that is more open, transparent and democratic. Under the current system, the majority of the decisions are made by just eight members of cabinet who then ensure that other members of their group are "whipped" to support them. Under a Committee System, all decisions would be debated openly and all Councillors would get an equal say. I would like to ask all residents to support this campaign by signing our petition at www.changecheshireeast.org or by using the QR code to the right of this article. Thank you!
